The Encyclopedia Project
If I were to exhibit this project again there are few things I would and could do differently to make my project more engaging and professional. I would like to do a really cool and well done poster board next time so my audience does not have to bend down or squint to see my presentation next time. I would also like to make my project more interactive. I could build my examples and a physical unit circle that could turn so you could show how the radiants change at different degrees. I think my greatest strength that I will be taking to my future math classes is the ability to adapt. I had to keep changing what I was writing and doing for this project and ended up with something that I was proud to exhibit. I think my weaknesses will be getting frustrated over nothing when I can't figure something out,
I will get better at not allowing my inabilities to distract and anger me.
Through this project I learned a lot about trigonometry and how it is used in many different professions, but the thing I feel that I learned the most from this project was actually a skill I will be able to use in the future. I am a better researcher now because of this project and will be able to use this new grown skill for any class or job. I think that if I did this project again there would be a couple personal refinement I would need to do to make my project more successful. First I would have started writing sooner and went to Effi’s office hours so that I would have fully understood what was need to start your own chapter in this book. I would use the family resources, my grandmother and grandfather are both architects, so I could have gotten the examples for an architect using trigonometry that I needed and struggled to find. If I could refine the whole project I would create more clear and understandable directions of what is required to finish the project. Having two different parts that I was suppose to contribute to the trigonometry page was very confusing because I hadn’t known that there were different requirements for each one.

- Through this project I have no only learned about the basics of trigonometry, but how many different professions use trigonometry on a daily basis. I have also learned two very important skills that will help me in the future not only for mathematic projects. I feel that I am now a stronger researcher and writer for non-poetic or fictional writing. Even though I may not take trigonometry into my future plans, these are skills that will be beneficial to me in the long run.
- Through this project I have learned that when I struggle with something when researching I will put as much effort as I can in, but if I fail to find what I need I give up. This scares me that I am this way, but I was unable to find what I was looking for. Instead of freaking out about this and stressing myself out more, I decided that it was more worth it to lose points in the project.
- To prepare myself for the exhibition I will need to create a visual of my architecture example of trigonometry along with the equation for the pitch of the roof. Also because I did the skills needed for trigonometry I would also like to create visuals for the different rules and equations that are needed. Also I will need to have my document open to show them in writing form if they have a hard time listening .
Semester Exam Project
What did you think of this project?
I really enjoyed doing this project even though it did not include an art aspect. Going back though everything we learned this year and recreating similar problems that we then had to figure out on our own. It was good review and was fun creating problems for our peers.
How are you going to study for the exam?
I am going to study for the exam by doing practice problems from each section to ensure that I know how to figure out those problems no matter what level of difficulty they are. I am planning on studying each night for five nights before the first part of the exam.
Reflection of the first semester in Algebra 2, strengths and weaknesses with content?
Working in class on nightly homework was something I felt that I was really able to complete and push through before the period had ended which left me with none to do most nights. I think something I struggle with in class is asking questions when I don't understand and end up stressing about it later that night as I search frantically through the text book.
